Silence!

SILENCE! Silence of the Lambs: The Musical is kind of wrong on quite a lot of levels. The mere thought of Dr Lecter dancing around in that mask of his singing is at the same time immensely funny. And how will they solve the pit?

“She takes the lotion out of the basket...” All it lacks is a big-boned kid.

Joss Whedon's X-Men

Astonishing X-Men #1 discussion on Barbelith. Sure, it’s inane fan-boy and geek-whining at times but that’s not a problem here. However someone said “I hope it is Kitty, I’ve never really read anything with her in.” Poor sod, never read a X-comic with Kitty Pride is like... I don’t know, eating hamburger without the meat. The funny thing, everyone is bitching about the preview art and not the real thing. I’m fairly sure Whedon will do something unexpected with it. The art might be reminiscence from the bygone era, but the story will change stuff around. At last.

DVD

I’ve heard rumours about a Curve dvd, but when I rumage through their site I can’t find anything about it except in the message bin. From what I’ve put together it will be released in a limited edition as well (it will be mine) this spring with a compilation cd. I think. It’s very fuzzy around the edges. I hope there is a dvd somewhere.

Black Angel

gunplay illustration

Black Angel, or Kuro no tenshi vol 1 if you like the original title better, is a good movie. DVD purists will complain about the cheap audiotrack, but really, I’ve seen things on VHS so it doesn’t bother me.

The movie is at times the standard you killed my father story, but it spins up and down and there’s a lot more to it than that. There’s a magnificent scene in a hotel room that would have been out of place in any other movie, but here it fits perfectly.

Since it’s Japanese, it does have other things than gunfights or non-stop action that’s pointless. It’s not a hack piece signed John Woo where the mediocrity is hidden behind Chow-Yun Fats coolness. But it is kind of violent at times though.

Oh, and I haven’t mentioned the run-though-the-hallway-scene. Eight minute oner tension. It’s ‘mazing.

two photologs

Let’s do some links together. m’key? Like a proper weblog. I wonder if I still can remember how to do this.

Found two new photologs: deceptive media (it usues flash, but I like ti anyway, it’s really neat) and beautifulamnesia (it has an escalator photo, which is a bad idea. If my referrerlogs are something to go by, Germans love those things almost as much as the Hasselhoff.). They’re neat and you should pay them a visit. I don’t want to force you, but your computer looks very flamable from here...

Driving

Uppsala is a horrible town to drive in. At times, the signposts neglect to tell you certain things (such as the missing “this is a one-way street moron”-sign) and the roads go on like the city map was drawn by Steve Wonder with his wonder-crayons.

stress

The most stressful thing you can see is a mean-looking woman (really mean-looking in the Charlie Bronson kind of way — psychotic) who squeezes one of those red anti-stress balls repeatedly and rapidly. Those balls... Whose bright idea was those anyway?

Angel canned

TV / Radio <20040214 14:29> <comment 0>

No more Angel on the WB and after Firefly it seems uncertain if they can be picked up by another network. This is stupid on so many levels, and I don’t say that jsut as a fanboy.

Sure, they say they conisder tv-movies but that’s not a really good option. I want episodes, I want arcs, I want development that doesn’t seem forced.

Photolog picked

I noticed that my photolog appears in Catherine Jamieson quick picks (as pick number 35) with a whole slew of other nice galleries. There’s a nice little preview too, so you’ll know just what kind of pictures to expect.

Jenny Everywhere

Jenny Everywhere is clearly a the Invisibles/Jerry Cornelius-inspired
comic character. Not too strange considering the Barbelith Underground origin.

From their FAQ:

The character of Jenny Everywhere is available for use by anyone, with only one condition. This paragraph must be included in any publication involving Jenny Everywhere, in order that others may use this property as they wish. All rights reversed.

While we strongly suggest you read through the rest of this site before you begin on your story, all you really need to begin is found above. It is absolutely necessary that this one condition be met, so that the spirit of this project will be continued. Thank you.

It seems I will attend my first Hultsfredsfestival this year. The Pixies will play.

Dancing the Manta Ray:

Do the manta ray {4X}

Your head can go real screw
With saucers chasing you

Dance the manta ray {5X}

With saucers chasing you

This don’t swim -

Fly

Your head can go real screw
With saucers chasing you

Look a radio

TV / Radio <20040204 17:37> <comment 0>

With a stereo hooked up into the computer-speakers, I once again have the ability to listen to the radio. However, sometimes it can be dangerous. Like last night, when Nattliv happened to begin with Bosse Löthén — one of the best people on P3 and they move him to a time-slot in the night, pure insane troll logic — I just had to listen for quite a while. Lots of talk, just like it should be.

I’ve missed the radio. Even though they play inane music and at times is plain annoying, I’ve missed it.

Alive?

Fun, fun, fun in the fluffy chair. Almost. While I could sit and scream “MTV get of the air!” to the tv, I don’t. I make fanzines instead. Small fanzines, in every way. Small number of copies and small in size — at least if you compare against the normal run off the mill Swedish stf-fanzines.

That’s one reason for the quiet, but I’ve written lots of stuff elsewhere too. There’s not enough words I guess. Anyway. Hi. I’m fine. Go watch Firefly, you lucky people.
